As the van speeds down the road, Summer steps back into the Queen’s mansion. Once inside, people are standing around, staring at her. The thoughts in their heads are loud. Mostly they’re concerned that Summer will go ballistic with anger over her maker’s capture and then others are worried that those people will try to come back and kill off more of them. Summer ignores their thoughts and scans the room. She noticed Lucian standing by the stairs. Quickly she approaches him. He senses that she is angry and wanting some kind of vengeance, but not sure what part he should play in it. Summer is so anxious to find Eric that she’ll do anything….anything to find him, because he would do the same for her.
Summer: Where is she?
Lucian: Who are you looking for?
Summer: You know exactly who I’m looking for.
Lucian: She’s upstairs, locked in her room. But you won’t be able to see her right now. She’s being heavily guarded by Hanz and Franz up there.
Summer races up the stairs, faster than a blink, and stops in front of the twin body guards. They immediately stand guard in front of the door, standing side by side. Their dark shades hiding their eyes.
Summer: I need to speak with her.
Sigebert: Nobody is to see the Queen at this time.
Summer: I don’t give a shit. I need to speak with her…now.
Wybert: Come back later, newborn.
Summer: Let me in there right now (fangs popping out)
Lucian suddenly appears beside her, ready to jump in to help her with the brooding twins. He stares them both in the eyes, well if he could see their eyes behind those dark shades, and tries to scare them somehow. The guards don’t seem to be influence by his hard, intense stare. Really they don’t seem to care about two angry Vampires in front of them. All they are worried about is the safety of their Queen.
Lucian: Let her in. It will be alright.
Sigebert: Nobody is to enter that room. Not until we know that this place is clear.
Lucian: Do you know who I am, child?
Wybert: We really don’t care who you are. Or your girlfriend at that matter.
Summer: Ha! You’re wrong about one thing (under her breath)
Lucian: I am Julian Drakos, King of Georgia.
Sigebert: How do we know you’re not lying? Nobody has ever seen him before.
Lucian: I have no reason to lie. If you still don’t believe me then call my offspring, Riley Kelly. Here is his number on the back of my card. Go ahead, call him.
Sigebert and Riley then begin whispering to one another in another language. Suddenly the door behind them opens and out steps Andre.
Andre: The Queen has agreed to see you both.
Summer pushes her way passed the twins and into the Queen’s master bedroom. As she stepped foot into the room, she was fuming with so much anger about what happened to Eric that her fangs were exposed. The Queen was laying across the bed, on her side, her hand propping up the side of her face. As she noticed an angry Summer, she formed an amused smile on her face.
Summer: Do you know where they are taking him?
Queen Sophie: So sorry for what happened to your maker. That sucks.
Summer: Fuck your apology. Did you know this was going to happen?
Andre: Are you accusing my Queen?
Queen Sophie: Andre, it’s quite alright.
Summer: Do you know why they took him?
Queen Sophie: I do not associate with anti-Vampire radicalists. You should know that.
Summer: I don’t know you, but I sense that you knew something like this would happen.
Queen Sophie: I think you should watch what you say next, sweetie.
Lucian then steps forward to intervene before Summer said or did something that would upset the Queen. The Queen noticed him and formed a big satisfied smirk on her face. She always wondered what the King of Georgia looked like. The mystery surrounding his whereabouts and image made all the Vampires very curious. Now that she has seen him, she wasn’t remotely disappointed.
Queen Sophie: The King of Georgia finally reveals himself. And you do not disappoint (licking her lips).
Lucian: Well my Queen, I’m glad to hear you say that. I’m sorry for the way this newborn has spoken to you. She knows not what she’s saying. You should remember what it was like being new to the immortal life.
Queen Sophie: Of course I do. That’s why I’ve been so lean ant with her.
Lucian: I’ve heard about your talents. Do any of your children have any ideas of Northman’s whereabouts?
Queen Sophie: I guess I could find out.
Lucian: Thank you, my Queen.
Summer crosses her arms and bites down on her bottom lip, feeling anxious and infuriated. The hunger was almost consuming her. She wanted to rip Steve Newlin’s throat out. Queen Sophie sat up on the bed and closed her eyes, concentrating on the thoughts of her offspring and communicating with them. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes.
Queen Sophie: None of them knew this was going to happen. They have no idea about Northman’s whereabouts.
Summer: (rolling her eyes) This is a fucking waste of time.
She spins around and stomps out of the room. Lucian quickly follows her out of the room.
Queen Sophie: She’s feisty. I think I like it.
Downstairs, Summer rushes out the front door and Lucian grabs her arm. Summer turns around and gives him a strong, evil, glance. He knew what she had planned and it wasn’t remotely pretty.
Summer: Let go of my arm.
Lucian: You need to calm down.
Summer: Calm down?!!! Calm down!! I can’t calm down!! They kidnapped him.
Lucian: Why don’t you go home and rest for the night.
Summer: I will not rest until I find him.
Lucian: Do you hear yourself right now?
Summer: You don’t seem to understand. What would you do if someone took your maker…your (interrupted).
Lucian: I never knew my maker. So yes, I don’t understand.
Summer quickly walks over to Eric’s red Ferrari and gets into the driver’s seat. She slams the door shut and quickly speeds down the driveway and onto the road. Lucian decides to follow her to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid.
A little later, at the Northman mansion, Lucian pulls up in front of the residence and notices the red Ferrari parked in front of him. He gets out of the black BMW and walks up the steps leading up to the front door. He presses his index finger on the doorbell and waits for someone to answer it. The door opens and he notices Pam.
Pam: She’s inside. But be careful, she’s pissed.
Pam steps to the side, making way for Lucian to come in. Lucian walks passed her and hears noises coming from upstairs. It sounds like things are being thrown around. Faster than a flashbulb from a camera, Lucian is up the stairs and races down the hallway towards the room at the end of the hall. He reaches the door, which is cracked open slightly and suddenly something hits the door, which slams it shut. Slowly he turns the knob and pushes the door open. Lying next to the door is a chair, lying on its side. He scans the room and notices clothes scattered everywhere and shoes. The bathroom door is cracked opened and he walks toward it. He pushes the door open and notices Summer sitting in the corner, her knees up toward her face and her arms wrapped around her legs, with her head buried. She slowly lifts her head up and gives Lucian the evilest, angriest glance. Lucian kneels down in front of her and places his hand on top of her knee.
Lucian: We will find him. I will help you.
Summer: I can’t help but feel that he’s in pain. My blood feels like it’s on fire.
Lucian: You need to concentrate. I’m sure you will be able to find him, if you just relax and don’t let the anger consume you.
Summer: It’s hard. I’m trying. Being a vampire isn’t that easy. Nobody ever tells you that.
Lucian: (snickering) Well each of us just handles it a little differently. It’s not all that bad. You’ll get the hang of it. Just be patient.
Summer: I’m getting really aggravated by the sound of your voice right now.
Lucian smiles with amusement and grabs her hands and pulls her up onto her feet. He then slings his arm around her shoulders and escorts her out of the bathroom. As they step into the bedroom, he sits Summer down on the bed. He sits next to her, holding her hand in his.
Lucian: Now rest. We’ll figure this out tomorrow.
Summer: I can’t rest.
Lucian: Try. It’s going to be daylight soon. You won’t be able to help him then.
Summer: Okay. I guess that makes sense. Thanks for putting up with me.
Lucian: It’s quite alright. I find it amusing.
He then slowly leans in towards her face and plants his lips onto hers. Quickly she pushes him away.
Summer: Fuck off. Eric was just kidnapped and now you try to make a move on me.
Lucian: I am so sorry. That was inappropriate.
Summer: Inappropriate isn’t the exact word I would use.
Lucian: Please forgive me.
Summer: Fine.
Lucian: Well I should be going now. Daylight approaches.
He stands up off the bed and walks toward the bedroom door. Before he steps out of the room, he turns around to look at Summer, who is still sitting on the edge of the bed and then walks out of the room and down the hallway. Summer falls back onto the bed and stares up at the ceiling…thinking.
Meanwhile, at an unknown location, in the basement, Eric has chains on his wrists that are wrapped around on the pipes behind him. He lies on the cold, cement floor, on his side, staring in front of him at the wooden stairs. He feels weak from the liquid silver that is still circulating throughout his body. The chains don’t help much either since they’re also made of silver. His wrists are bloody from the silver burning through his skin. He hears the door open and footsteps coming down the wooden stairs. A man then kneels down in front of him.
Mystery man: Hello, there.
Eric: Who the hell are you? (Barely able to speak)
Mystery man: Who I am is none of your concern.
Eric: What the hell do you want?
Mystery man: You ask a lot of questions.
He then stands up and walks over to the corner and grabs a hold of an antique chair. He drags it across the cement floor and stops it in front of Eric. He sits down, crossing his legs and placing his hands on his knees. The man is wearing a dark grey suit. He is in his early 40’s with curly, blondish-hair, and blue eyes. He stares down at a powerless Eric, feeling some amount of amusement in it all.
Mystery man: How long do you think it will take for someone to find you?
Eric: Go to hell (under his breath)
Mystery man: (snickering) No thank you.
Another pair of footsteps come down the stairs and approaches the mysterious man. It was none other than Steve Newlin. He appears to be nervous about something. The blond man looks over at him.
Mystery man: What?
Steve: When is he coming?
Mystery man: Be patient. He’ll be here.
Steve: He promised me. We made a deal.
Mystery man: His word is iron clad. Trust me. And why do you appear to be so nervous?
Steve: What if she figures out where he is?
Mystery man: Do you mean Summer Stackhouse?
Steve: You didn’t tell me she was a Vampire.
Mystery man: Surprise.
Steve: I’ve heard about the strong bond between the maker and their offspring. She will find out.
Mystery man: You worry too much. Now sit down and just relax.
Steve walks over towards the wooden steps and sits down on the bottom one. He stares at Eric and then places his face in his hands. The blonde man begins to snicker with amusement.
Meanwhile, at the Northman mansion, Summer lays in bed, tossing and turning, trying to sleep, but she is still angry about what happened to Eric. She reaches over and grabs the cordless phone off its base and begins dialing a number. The phone is pressed against her ear as she waits for the person on the other end to answer.
Sookie: (on the other end) Hello?
Summer: I’m sorry to wake you.
Sookie: Summer?
Summer: Hey, sis. How are you?
Sookie: Are you okay? I haven’t heard from you in awhile.
Summer: Eric was kidnapped tonight. I want you to listen to people’s thoughts at Merlotte’s and see if you hear anything about the light of day institute or about a vampire being held captive. Would you do that for me?
Sookie: Of course.
Summer: Thank you. I’ll get off here and let you sleep.
Sookie: How will I get a hold of you?
Summer: I will find you. Goodnight, Sook.
Summer turned the phone off and placed it back on its base, which was sitting on the nightstand by her bed. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep.
The next night, at Merlotte’s, Sookie walked into the bathroom for her break and suddenly Summer appeared in front of her. Sookie immediately reacted and almost jumped off the floor in fright.
Sookie: Don’t do that (with her hand on her chest).
Summer: Sorry. So did you hear anything?
Sookie: No, sorry.
Summer: Damn it. Is there anybody in the bar right now that is suspicious?
Sookie: Not really. But it’s really busy in there right now. I’ve been getting tons of orders. I haven’t really been able to concentrate.
Summer: I’ll try to listen for myself, but don’t worry, I’ll just stand in the hallway and peak my head in. Nobody will notice me.
Sookie: It’s good to see you. You look good.
She wrapped her arms around Summer, hugging her tightly. Summer tried not to smell her sister. There was just something about her that smelled so tempting. She felt strong enough to resist. Sookie then pulled herself away from Summer.
Sookie: Is something wrong?
Summer: No. Just go to work. Act like I’m not even here.
Sookie: When will I see you again?
Summer: In time.
Sookie: Me and Jason miss you.
Summer: I miss you, too. Now go back to work.
Sookie flashes Summer a smile and steps out of the bathroom and back into the bar, continuing to waitress her tables. Summer quietly makes her way out of the bathroom and down the hallway without being noticed. She stands at the edge and peaks her head out to see into the bar, trying to listen in on people’s thoughts in the room. She couldn’t really hear anything of importance. Just nonsense. Drunken thoughts that don’t make any sense. Suddenly she eyed a young female maybe about 18 years old, sitting at the booth by the door. She seemed upset and her thoughts consisted of disgust against vampires. Summer decided to wait for the girl to leave the bar to make her move. She didn’t want to frighten the customers in the bar. She did a good job of that recently.
An hour later, the young girl slid out of the booth and pulled out some money from her back jean pocket. She tosses it on the table and makes her way to the front door. Summer rushes down the hallway and out the back door. The young girl exits the bar and slowly walks over to her car which is parked at the end of the lot, surrounded by several cars, so Summer could approach her without being seen. As the girl reaches her car, Summer appears behind her. The girl turns around and notices Summer. Summer lunges at her and grabs her by the throat, tightly. Her fangs are out and her face is but a few inches away from the young girl.
Young girl: Please….don’t kill me (sounding scared).
Summer: I won’t as long as you answer my questions.
Young girl: Okay.
Summer: Why are you so disgusted with us?
Young girl: Because you’re murderers. Blood thirsty.
Summer: Are you associated with the light of day institute?
Young girl: No.
Summer could sense that the girl was lying by the tone of her voice. She gripped the girl’s throat tighter. Slowly Summer lifted the girl up off the gravel ground.
Summer: Why are you lying to me?
Young girl: I’m not (tears rolling down her face with fear)
Summer: I know you’re lying.
Young girl: What do you want from me? (Starting to cry)
Summer: A vampire was kidnapped recently. Have you heard anything about that? And be careful what you say next, because I will know if you are lying.
Young girl: I heard my boyfriend talking about something like that.
Summer: What did he say?
Young girl: He just said that he and his friend went to this Halloween party at this Vampire’s mansion and they kidnapped one of them. That’s all…promise.
Summer: Where can I find your boyfriend?
Young girl: If I tell you, then you will kill him.
Summer: I promise I won’t kill him.
Young girl: I don’t trust vampires.
Summer: Well then I’ll just kill you then.
Summer leaned in towards the girl’s neck and the girl started screaming. Quickly she placed her other hand over the girl’s mouth to silence her.
Summer: Do that again and I will make you my snack. Do you understand?
The girl nodded her head and Summer removed her hand from off the girl’s mouth.
Young girl: I’m not sure where he is right now. But his friend is at work right now. He works at this bike shop.
Summer: Where?
The girl then gives Summer the address. Once Summer was satisfied, she dropped the girl onto the gravel ground and quickly disappears. The girl staggers back up on her feet and runs around her car, still crying and gets into the car.
Meanwhile, at the unknown location, in the basement, the mysterious blond man is sitting in the antique chair in front of Eric, who is now on his knees. Steve paces back and for worth biting his nails. Suddenly the door opens and footsteps are heard. Steve looks up and forms a big smile on his face.
Steve: You came.
Voice: I told you I would.
Steve: I did what you told me. Now are you going to hold your end of the bargain?
Voice: Of course. I called your church and made a few arrangements. I think you will be satisfied with the strings I pulled.
Steve: I have to admit, I wasn’t keen on this partnership, but now I feel so much better with it. You Vamps are hard to trust.
Voice: I was shocked that you were willing to help me. Your hatred for us is expressed in a strange fashion.
Steve: I still hate every single one of you.
Voice: Understandable. Your father was murdered by one of us.
Steve: I’m not going to say thank you, if that’s what you’re waiting for.
Voice: I don’t expect you to. Now get out.
Steve walks up the stairs and out the door. The mysterious voice makes its appearance next to the mysterious blonde. Eric looks up and suddenly forms an angry glance.
Eric: You.
The mysterious man was Lucian Stavros or Julian Drakos as his king name. The blonde man in the chair next to him is his offspring, Riley Kelly.
Riley: What now?
Lucian: Now we have a little fun.
