Chapter 12: I Devise My Own Demise

*Warning: Contains bad language*

The next evening, at the Vampire hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, Summer was lying in bed and slowly opened her eyes. She sat up and noticed the electric blinds were opening by themselves, which meant it was now night time and the Vampires were free to wake up. She climbed out of bed and walked into the bathroom.

Several minutes later, she stepped out of the bathroom wearing tight fitting boot cut jeans, a white tank top with a pink one underneath that one. She snatched her black leather jacket off the sofa chair and headed out the front door, sliding her key card in her back jeans pocket.

Summer later stepped out of the elevator on the lobby floor and approached the receptionist desk. The young female with long blonde hair stood behind the desk flashing her a friendly smile. A little too friendly.

Female: Anything I can help you with this fine evening?

Summer: Do you have a phone book that I can look at?

Female: Of course.

The woman bent down and grabbed a thick yellow book from off the shelf and stood back up, handing it to Summer.

Summer: Thank you.

Summer, with the phone book in her hand, walked across the lobby and into the small bar area. She found a table near the entrance and sat down, placing the book on the table. As she skimmed through it, she felt a presence. She looked up and noticed the mysterious man from the other night.

Mysterious man: Well good evening, ma’am. I didn’t mean to interrupt you.

Summer: Yes you did or else you wouldn’t be standing here.

Mysterious man: Are you always this abrupt?

Summer: You’d be surprised.

Mysterious man: Mind if I take a seat here with you?

Summer: (staring down at the phonebook) Not really, but you probably will anyways.

Mysterious man: (laughing as he sat down across from her) You’re not from around here are you?

Summer: What gave that way? (Sarcastically)

Mysterious man: The name is Lucian Stavros.

Summer: I don’t remember ever asking you for your name.

Lucian: Ouch. Now if I had a shred of feelings that would of actually hurt.

Summer: What the hell do you want? (Sounding annoyed)

Lucian: Just want the pleasure of your company.

Summer: You’re an old vampire, aren’t you?

Lucian: Why do you ask?

Summer: Because all you old vampires think you’re so smoothe and irresistible. Trust me when I say this…you’re not.

Lucian: (forming a big smirk on his face) You are definitely something else.

Summer: Aww…thanks (sarcastically)

Lucian: Why do you think I’m a vampire?

Summer: Trust me, I know. The same way I know that woman at the bar is a fangbanger and the man standing at the other end of the bar is a Vampire.

Lucian: How did you figure that?

Summer: The way they move. Vampires move differently from humans. Plus…the smell gives them away.

Lucian: You’re a newborn, aren’t you? Probably just a few days old.

Summer: What makes you think that?

Lucian: Being as old as I am, I have seen and learn a lot. So trust me, I know.

Summer: How old are you exactly?

Lucian: It’s rude to ask a Vampire his age. Let’s just say I’m really old.

Summer: Well then, I really need to get back to what I was doing.

Lucian: Who are you looking for? (Noticing the phonebook)

Summer: Now that’s rude.

Lucian: (snickering) Touché.

Summer: Excuse me.

She gets up out of her chair and walks away from the table and out into the lobby. Lucian watches as she sits down on the leather sofa chair next to the small table with a cord-less phone sitting on it. Summer opens up the phone book and skims through the pages until she comes across the “S’s”. Using her index finger, she scrolls down the page until she comes across Lee Shaw’s name. She grabs the phone next to her and dials the number.

After a few minutes of talking on the phone, she walks back over to the receptionist desk and hands the book to the young female. Lucian appears behind her and Summer instantly rolls her eyes because she sensed that he was behind her. Slowly she turned around and had a slight grin on his face.

Summer: Now what the hell do you want?

Lucian: The pleasure of knowing your name.

Summer: I didn’t tell you? (Knowing she didn’t)

Summer walked passed him and headed over towards the elevators. She pressed the button on the wall to call for the elevator as Lucian slowly approached her from behind. One of the elevators opened up next to her and she quickly stepped inside. Lucian followed and stood next to her. Summer was getting really annoyed by this guy. All she wanted was to find Lee Shaw and exact her revenge. She didn’t want a clingy vampire. It was really starting to piss her off. The elevator door opened and Summer stepped out. Once she reached her room, she pulled out her card key from her back pocket and slid it down the scanner on the door. She quickly stepped inside before Lucian could annoy her even more.

A half hour later, Summer stepped out of her room wearing a strapless black dress that was a slightly above her knee and form fitting. Lucian stood in front of her with a smirk on his face.

Lucian: You look ravishing tonight.

Summer: Seriously, you’re starting to piss me off.

Lucian: All I want to know is your name.

Summer: Fine. My name is Summer. Now I have somewhere to be.

Lucian: Let me guess. You are going to a club. The Un-Natural club?

Summer: I have to admit that’s a good guess.

Lucian: Well it wasn’t exactly a guess. I over heard you on the phone.

Summer: Right. I forgot we have super hearing. I have to go.

Lucian: A newborn like you shouldn’t be going to the club alone.

Summer: Why the hell not?

Lucian: Because it’s not exactly safe.

Summer: I am a Vampire. I can pretty much handle it.

Lucian: Okay, then. Suit yourself.

Summer: Fine (giving in)

Lucian formed a smile on his face as they walked over towards the elevators together. Just as the leave the hotel and into a limo, which Lucian happened to have, Eric stepped into the hotel wearing a gray suit with a black dress shirt underneath that was only buttoned up half way. He approached the receptionist desk and the young female flashed him a friendly smile.

Female: What may we do for you this fine evening?

Eric: Did a woman by the name of Summer Stackhouse check in here?

Female: Let me check.

She typed the name into the computer, staring at the screen.

Female: Yes, she checked in last night.

Eric: What room is she in?

Female: I believe she just left with another one of our guests.

Eric: Did she say where she was going?

Female: I believe they’re going to the Un-Natural club.

Eric: Thank you.

He flashed her an evil-ish grin and then quickly strolled out of the hotel.

At the Un-Natural club, Summer and Lucian step through the front doors noticing the large crowds of people dancing to the extremely loud techno music. Immediately Summer closes her eyes and inhales the air, trying to smell everyone inside the club. She was looking for one distinct smell. The smell of the woman that killed her….Lee Shaw.

Lucian: Looking for anyone in particular?

Summer: That is none of your damn business.

She then walks away from him and pushes through the crowd of dancing people and over towards the bar. Lucian follows very closely. Summer leans forward on the bar trying to get the bartender’s attention. The male bartender notices her. He is average height with slit back jet black hair. His skin was extremely pale which meant he was dead…a vampire like herself. He approached her and flashed her a flirtatious smile.

Bartender: What may I get for you tonight?

Summer: A Tru Blood, please. B positive.

Bartender: Coming right up.

As he walked away to go heat up her drink, Summer caught a whiff of human next to her. She turned her head and noticed he was talking to a young female. He noticed her staring at him and decided since he wasn’t getting anywhere with the young woman next to him, he decided to take a risk with Summer. He smiled at her and she smiled back. She didn’t really look at him; she was staring at his neck the whole time.

Young man: Hello, my name is Tyler.

Summer: How old are you?

Young man: Just turned 21.

Summer: You’re very young.

Young man: You’re very pretty (flirting)

Summer: (smiling) How cute.

She began speaking with him and as Lucian approached Summer he noticed that her lips were really close to his neck. He immediately pushed his way through the crowd of people and pushed Summer aside.

Young man: Uh, excuse me (getting annoyed)

Lucian: (staring into the man’s eyes) You will leave this club and go home. You are really tired.

Young man: I’m really tired. I should be heading home.

The young man then walked away from the bar and through the crowd of dancing people. Summer began drinking her Tru Blood through a straw while giving Lucian an innocent glance.

Lucian: You are bad, you know that?

Summer: You don’t even know me.

Lucian: I know you enough. Now come dance with me.

Summer: I don’t want to dance.

Lucian: It will distract you from the thirst.

Summer: I wasn’t going to bite that boy.

Lucian: Maybe not. But you wanted to.

Summer: I did. He just smelled sooooooo good.

Lucian grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the bar and towards the crowd of dancing people. He slid his hand behind her back and pushed her against him. He then grabbed her hand and spun her around. As she rubbed her back against his body, she spotted Lee across the room sitting in a booth with two other girls. Lucian spun her back around, facing him and then dipped her down. As he pulled her back up towards him, he raised both her arms above her head and began tracing his hands from her wrists down her forearm and then slowly down to her waist. They continued dancing to the upbeat music and once it ended, Lucian tried to lean in for a kiss but Summer pushed herself away from him.

Summer: I will be right back.

She walked away from him and passed the crowd of dancing people. As she made her way to the other side of the room, she began to feel excited about seeing the look on Lee’s face when she saw her alive…well dead. Once she reached the booth, she noticed Lee headed towards the ladies’ room. Summer realized this was her chance to exact vengeance. She stepped into the ladies room and sniffed the air to see if anyone else was in the bathroom. It was just her and Lee, so she quietly locked the bathroom door and walked up behind Lee, who was checking her make-up in front of the mirror. Lee noticed Summer and quickly spun around.

Lee: How can this be? I killed you (sounding scared)

Summer: Well you did the deed, trust me.

Lee: I don’t understand. Did those vamps heal you?

Summer: I was beyond healing.

Lee: (swallowing hard) You’re a Vampire, aren’t you?

Summer: (forming a big smile on her face) That I am. Thanks for that.

Lee: You followed me all the way here from Louisiana?

Summer: Sure did. Want to know why? (Slowly taking a few steps forward)

Lee: Revenge?

Summer: Do you have any Vampire friends of your own?

Lee: No, why?

Summer: That’s good. Then nobody can heal you.

Summer could smell the fear on Lee and she loved it. She never understood why Vampires loved for humans to be afraid, but now she understood why. It was intoxicating. Almost mouth watering. She took a few steps closer towards Lee and Lee pushed passed Summer and ran towards the bathroom door. She grabbed a hold of the door handle, pushing and pulling but the door wouldn’t budge. As she tried to grab for the lock, Summer grabbed her from behind and sank her fangs into Lee’s neck. Summer placed her other hand over Lee’s mouth so that she couldn’t scream for help. Lee tried to fight Summer, but Summer was way stronger than her. Summer kept sucking the blood from Lee’s neck. Tears rolled down Lee’s cheeks as Summer fed off of her. The pinkish tone of Lee’s skin changed to a pale white color, meaning that Summer had almost completely drained her. Summer let go of Lee and she fell to the cold, tiled floor below. Lee slowly looked up at Summer who was licking the blood from her lips. She slowly crawled across the floor until she reached one of the stalls. Summer just stared at her, her fangs still out. She couldn’t believe what she had become. A killer. That’s the one thing that she didn’t want. She realized that what Lee did was wrong and she was still angry that her life was taken away from her, but she just couldn’t take a life herself. It just wouldn’t feel right. Summer’s fangs retracted and she unlocked the bathroom door. She yanked opened the door and headed back out into the club. Lee rested her head on the floor, relieved that Summer didn’t finish her off.

Summer then noticed Eric standing in front of her. She knew that he would have found her sooner or later. They shared a connection. He would always know where she was.

Summer: I’m ready to go back home.

Eric: Wow that was easy.

Summer: Let’s just get out of here. This club is ridiculous.

Back at the hotel, Eric sat on the bed next to Summer.

Eric: So did you get your revenge?

Summer: Sort of.

Eric: You don’t seem too thrilled about it.

Summer: I’m not. (Pause) I don’t want to be a killer.

Eric: She did kill you. I think that’s pretty plausible.

Summer: I won’t do it. Not ever.

There then was a knock at the door and Summer got up off the bed and walked over to the front door. She opened it and noticed Lucian.

Lucian: You left me there.

Summer: Sorry.

Lucian: Sorry won’t cut it. May I come in?

Summer: I have company.

Lucian: It better not be that young man from earlier tonight.

Eric then appeared behind Summer. Lucian noticed him and his smile changed.

Eric: Who is your new friend?

Lucian: I’m Lucian Stavros.

Eric: I’ve heard of you. Why don’t you come in?

Summer rolled her eyes because she knew that Eric felt threatened by Lucian’s presence. It was as if Summer was some prize to be won. Summer walked away from both of them as Lucian entered the room.

Summer: I’m going to wash up. You two can stay and chat or whatever.

She walked into the bathroom and closed it behind her. Eric sat down on the couch and Lucian sat down across from him in the sofa chair.

Lucian: I didn’t catch your name.

Eric: Eric Northman.

Lucian: I’ve heard of you, as well.

Eric: Listen, Summer is mine.

Lucian: Why because you’re her maker? If I don’t recall, makers and their off-spring usually don’t mix well when it comes to relationships.

Eric: I am her maker, but she was mine even before I turned her.

Lucian: Now you listen. Summer can choose whomever she wants. She seems very smart and out-spoken. I’m sure she’s going to be a handful. From what I can tell, she is pissed that you made her into a vampire. Plus, she has taken a shine to me.

Eric: I really don’t care who you are, but you will stay away from her, if you know what’s good for you.

Lucian: Are you threatening me? I outrank you the last time I checked. Plus, I’m older than you. I can kick your ass, Viking. Anytime. Anyplace (forming a smirk on his face)

Eric didn’t really have a comeback because he knew that Lucian was right. Summer stepped out of the bathroom and noticed the two glaring at one another. Lucian noticed her and gave her a big grin.

Summer: So did you two boys behave yourselves?

Lucian: Sure did. I think I’ll be heading back to my room. Dawn is near.

Summer: Are you sure Eric didn’t threaten you?

Lucian: Threaten? Hell’s no. He doesn’t scare me. He’s a mere puppy compared to me.

Eric gave him an evil glance as Lucian stood up from the sofa chair. Lucian walked over towards the front door and Summer followed him. She stepped out into the hallway with him and as the door closed behind her, Lucian leaned in and planted his lips on hers.

To be continued…

Chapter 11: Eyes of the Devil

*Warning: Contains bad language*

The new, improved and now…dead, Summer Stackhouse was on top of her twin sister with her hand grasping tightly around her throat. Sookie realized what Eric had done with Summer’s body. He had turned her that day at Merlotte’s and buried her body at the cemetery so that she could rise a vampire. Sookie felt happy that Eric had listened to her plea and turned her sister, but she also felt intense fear that she was going to be her sister’s first meal.

Summer began smelling Sookie’s neck. The scent was intoxicating. She was trying so hard not to sink her fangs into her sister’s neck, but the thirst was consuming her. She never felt such intense hunger in her life. As she stared at Sookie’s neck, she noticed the jugular vein was pulsing through the skin. Long and hard she stared at that vein in her sister’s neck, wanting so hard just to bite and drink, but it was her sister and she just couldn’t. Thoughts filled her head, as clear as a TV signal. The thoughts were of fear and panic.

Sookie: (in her thoughts) Summer, please don’t kill me.

Summer loosened her grip from Sookie’s neck and faster than a blink, was off of her sister and on the other side of the room. Sookie slowly sat up and then stood back up on her feet. She noticed Summer’s back was facing her. Slowly she approached her knowing that her sister was hungry for blood. Summer quickly spun around, facing Sookie, her fangs still out.

Summer: Get away from me, Sookie.

Sookie: I know you won’t hurt me.

Summer: I’m not the same sister you once knew. I don’t even feel like the same person.

Sookie: If you wanted to kill me then you would have done it already.

Summer: Sookie, don’t be stupid. The thoughts roaming through my head right now is extremely unpleasant.

Sookie tried to concentrate on Summer’s thoughts, but she heard nothing. She never could read vampire thoughts since they are dead and don’t think like everyone else, so it made sense that she couldn’t read Summer’s. But she was curious if her sister still had her telepathy ability.

Summer: I can hear everything you’re thinking right now.

Sookie: Alright, now that’s just creepy.

Summer: I should be creeping you out right now. I’m dead and a bloodsucker (angry)

Sookie: Would you at least hide your fangs or something?

Summer: I can’t. That’s the point. Right now all I’m concentrating on is that vein in your neck pulsating.

Sookie: Well stop it.

Summer: I think I should go.

Sookie: Don’t leave, please.

Summer: You really want me here, even though I just attacked you and almost ripped your throat out?

Sookie: You’re my sister. (Pause) I missed you.

Summer: Well your sister is dead. How much do you like me now?

Summer faster than a blink, ran passed Sookie and out the front door. Sookie quickly spun around and ran after her. As she reached the front door, she looked around and Summer was gone. Eric suddenly appeared in front of her. Sookie jumped, startled by his sudden appearance.

Eric: Where is she?

Sookie: She just left.

Eric: Damn, she’s fast.

Sookie: Why did you keep this a secret from me…and my brother? We are her family. We have the right to know.

Eric: Yes, she was your sister.

Sookie: She still is (sounding upset)

Eric: She’s dead, Sookie. She won’t be the same.

Sookie: I don’t believe that. She didn’t kill me. I’m still here.

Eric: Well she may have resisted, but the next person she comes into contact with may not be too lucky.

Eric then sensed that Summer was not too far away. He quickly took off running off the porch and towards the road, without saying anything to Sookie. Sookie quickly went back inside the house to go call Jason about Summer.

Meanwhile, at Merlotte’s, Summer stopped running and was standing in the parking lot, staring at the front of the bar. She was tempted to go inside and show her lifeless, pale face but then again she did not want to scare her friends. Eric then appeared behind her. She quickly spun around, sensing his presence, and gave him an evil glare. Summer hated the fact that Eric had disregarded her request about not wanting to be a vampire. She wanted to get a wooden stake and stab him in the chest for what he did to her. He flashed her a smirky smile but he could tell by the look on her face that she was furious with him. He couldn’t help to look her up and down. She was looking pretty good for being only a few hours old.

Summer: You cold, selfish, son-of-a-bitch.

Eric: I understand you’re angry.

Summer: You understand? You have no idea (angry)

Eric: You were close to death. You should be thanking me.

Summer: Actually I would rather kill you. I didn’t want this. You should have let me die.

Eric: You will change your mind. Being a vampire is not so bad.

Summer: Maybe to you it’s not, but I find sucking human blood very bad. It’s disgusting.

Eric: It’s an acquired taste. But you didn’t seem to complain when you drank my blood.

Summer: I had to in order to heal. The taste was metallic and just…gross. Actually I would just rather meet the sun than to drink someone’s blood. Do you know that I thought about biting my own sister?

Eric: They were just thoughts.

Summer: It won’t be a thought next time.

Eric thought about giving her a smart-ass remark, but he didn’t want to fuel her fire even more. He knew that she was enraged but he had to get her away from the bar before she decided to actually rip some people’s throats out.

Eric: Come with me to Fangtasia.

Summer: I’m not going anywhere with you.

Eric: As your maker, I command you (in a stern voice)

Summer wanted to ignore what he just said, but apart of her wanted to listen. It was a strong urge of obedience, which she hated. She rolled her eyes at him and walked towards him. They ended up running back to Fangtasia in Shreveport.

Later at Fangtasia, Summer was sitting on the leather couch in Eric’s office. Eric sat at his desk and pressed the button on his phone, calling Pam. Pam opened the door and noticed Summer sitting on the couch. She formed a smirk on her face and closed the door behind her.

Pam: Well, Well, being a vampire definitely agrees with you.

Summer didn’t respond back, she just sat still with her arms folded with an angry look on her face.

Eric: She woke up on the wrong side of the grave this evening. (Jokingly)

Pam: I can see that.

Eric then spoke to Pam in a foreign language and she formed an excited look on her face. She flashed Summer a smile and stepped out of the office.

Summer: What the hell did you just tell her?

Eric: You will find out soon enough.

The office door slowly opened and in walked Pam with a young male. He was tall, slender, with dark hair and eyes. He was probably a little over 21. Pam then whispered into his ear and he nodded his head. Slowly he walked over towards Summer and then sat down next to her on the leather couch. Immediately, she bolted up off the couch, shaking her head in disbelief.

Summer: Are you fucking serious?

Eric: You need to feed.

Summer: I told you I would rather meet the sun.

Pam: (rolling her eyes) Don’t be so dramatic.

Eric: If you do not at least try and taste human blood, then you will always crave it. Eventually it will drive you insane.

Summer: I can’t do it (shaking her head)

Eric: You are not going to suck him dry. Just taste him.

She looked down at her feet, trying not to look in the direction of the young male sitting on the leather couch. The smell of him filled her nostrils. His scent was strong and just mouth watering. She bit down on her lower lip, trying to decide what she should do.

Young Male: It’s okay if you taste me. I do not mind.

Pam: He volunteered immediately after I mentioned your name.

Young Male: I’ve remember her from when she bartended here not too long ago.

Eric: I think you have an admirer.

Summer: Kid, you do not know what you’re asking me to do.

Young Male: I do know.

Pam: Oh, just get it over with already.

Summer: I just can’t.

Eric: I can feel that you want to.

He was right. She really did want to. The thirst was driving her crazy. She could feel her fangs just wanting to pop out. The young male stood up off the couch and approached her. She caught a stronger scent and before she could even think about it, she charged him, fangs out and sunk her teeth into his neck. The taste of his blood in her mouth made her crave more. She did more than just taste him. Eric got up off of his chair and grabbed Summer by the arm, pulling her away from the boy. She pulled her fangs out of his neck and the boy grabbed his throat and had a scared look on his face. Quickly he ran out of the office and out of the bar. Summer had blood trickling down the side of her mouth, her fangs still out. She couldn’t believe what she had just done. Eric gave Pam a look and she quickly stepped out of the office. Before Summer could respond to what she did to that boy, Eric’s lips were pressed against hers. He began licking the blood from the side of her mouth. The feeling of his lips on hers felt so differently than before. Maybe it was because she dead and now cold to the touch herself. As he continued kiss her, he slid his arm behind her back and pulled her towards him. Even though she was mad at him, she couldn’t hold back from kissing him. A thought had popped into his head, which really set her off. He was thinking that he had her and she finally had forgiven him. She pushed him away and gave him a dirty look.

Summer: I haven’t forgotten shit. You are an ass-hole.

Eric: You heard what I was thinking? (Pause) Interesting.

Summer: It’s not interesting. Now I can hear everyone and everything.

Eric: You will grow accustom to it.

Summer: I’m getting out of here.

She tried to walk passed Eric, but he grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him. Their faces just a few inches away from one another. Her stared her in the eyes, long and hard, but she was not going to give in.

Eric: Now what am I thinking?

She heard his thought and it wasn’t exactly PG rated. Summer rolled her eyes at him and punched him in the chest. He let go of her arm and she quickly left out of office. Eric quickly followed. She pushed her way through the crowd of people, but then stopped suddenly. The thoughts of everyone around her, human and vampire, were loud in her head. She even heard the loud clunking of the liquor bottles and glasses from the bar as they were being served to the customers. Also, the strong scent of humans in the room was making her very thirsty. Tightly she shut her eyes and tried to concentrate on something else, but it wasn’t working very well. Suddenly she felt something on press against her lips. Her eye lids slowly opened and realized that Eric had caught up to her and was now kissing her. Even though she was still furious with him, he was actually distracting her from the thirst, loud noises and thoughts of everyone in the room.

An hour before dawn, Eric, Summer and Pam were now at the Northman mansion. As they stepped through the front door, Pam made her way upstairs. Summer then stepped into the living room and plopped down on the leather couch. Eric walked over towards her and grabbed her hand, pulling her up off the couch. Still holding onto her hand, he led her upstairs and into his bedroom. He began pulling off his leather jacket and then grasped the bottom of his tank top, lifting it up over his head and dropping it to the floor. As he slid off his jeans, he quickly got on the bed and began patting the spot next to him on the bed. Summer just stood frozen by the door.

Eric: Come lay with me. You know dawn is approaching.

For some strange reason, she felt that dawn was near. It must be just a normal vampire sense, because she never felt that before. She didn’t really want to lay next to him, since she was so angry, but she had to get over for the night until she figured out some other kind of arrangement for herself. Slowly she walked over towards the bed and slipped off her red high heeled shoes that Pam had bought her. Earlier that night, Summer was covered in dirt from head to toe, that she had to get washed up and get new clothes and stuff, and of course Pam had to run the errand. Summer climbed into bed, facing Eric. She tried closing her eyes, but she could feel him staring at her.

Summer: What?

Eric: (smiling) You’re still pissed off.

Summer: You think? (Sarcastically)

Eric: You can’t hate me for all eternity.

Summer: Oh, try me.

She turned over on her other side. Eric moved in closer, pressing up against her bed and draping his arm over her. He closed his eyes, with a devilish grin on his face. Summer just rolled her eyes and decided to give up for the night and closed her eyes.

The next evening, Eric’s eyes slowly opened and formed a big smile on his face. When he didn’t see anybody lying on the bed next to him, he bolted up. Summer was not in the bed with him. He quickly got out of bed and put on some new clothes. After he was dressed, he stepped out of his darkened room and into the hallway. Pam walked out of her room just as Eric stepped into the hallway.

Pam: Hello, Eric. How is my sister? (With a big grin on her face)

Eric: I wouldn’t know. She’s not here.

Pam: Uh, oh. (Pause) Kids, they’re always up to mischief.

Meanwhile, Summer was at the run down motel near Bon Temps, where James and his brother had stayed. She had busted down the door looking for Lee, but nobody was inside. Summer had on some new clothes and was sporting a new short style hair cut. She began sniffing around the room and realized why Vampires didn’t like the smell of Weres. The odor was strong and musky, well to a vampire anyways. She quickly ran out of the room, quicker than a blink, and into the front desk area of the motel. As she appeared at the front desk, she hit the bell and the clerk came out of the backroom. He was an older man, around his late 40’s to early 50’s.

Clerk: What may I help you with this fine evening?

Summer: The people that were staying in room 4A, where did they go?

Clerk: I think they’re headed back to Georgia. They were in quite a hurry.

Summer: Thank you.

She turned around and walked out of the front desk area. As she stepped outside, she noticed an old 1970’s black corvette sitting at the end of the parking lot. The parking lot wasn’t well lit so she quickly ran over towards it and pulled the front door opened. She slid inside and closed the door. As she was inside, she looked for the keys in the seat, glove compartment and then under the visors. The keys fell into her hand as she pulled down the visor in front of her. She placed the keys in the ignition and drove out of the parking lot.

Before dawn approached, Summer had to make a stop in Mississippi and stopped in Jackson where there was a vampire hotel. She had to find some place to sleep before making her way to Georgia. The Vampires and humans there seemed a little too friendly for her taste, but she didn’t really care for the time being. The bellhop showed her to her room and flashed her a smile before he walked off. Summer realized that somebody would probably call Eric and tell him where she was, but she would be gone before he ever set foot in Mississippi.

The next night, Summer drove out of Mississippi just as the sun set and into Alabama. Of course, she drove over 100 miles per hour or else she wouldn’t make it into the state of Georgia with the amount of hours she had left. Finally after several hours, she reached Atlanta, Georgia with a half hour to spare before dawn. She found another large Vampire hotel and decided to book herself there for the night. As she stood in front of the reception desk, a man in his late 20’s stood next to her. He was around 6 feet tall, with shoulder length brown hair and dark eyes. He wore all black and his face was pale. She could sense that he was a vampire and that he was eyeing her when she wasn’t looking. The receptionist booked Summer a room on the third floor and handed her a key car. Summer grabbed the card and turned around, walking away from the desk. She approached the elevators and pressed the button on the wall in front of her. The mystery man appeared beside her just as one of the elevator doors opened. She stepped inside and the man followed.
